Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log in to the Southwest Recovery client portal?

Go to swrsportal.com and enter the username and password Southwest Recovery provided when your account was set up. If you have not received credentials or you have forgotten your password, call us at 866-837-3065 or email info@swrecovery.com. The client support team will get you access.

What types of accounts can I submit through the SWRS portal?

The SWRS portal accepts four account types: commercial (B2B invoice debts), consumer (individual debtor accounts), property management (tenant delinquencies), and medical (patient and healthcare AR accounts). Each type has its own submission form and required documentation. The walkthroughs on this page are organized by portal function — signing in, profile & MFA, activity reports, account status, new placement entry, secure file exchange, and direct payments.

How long does it take for a submitted placement to appear in the portal?

In most cases, a submitted placement appears in your portal dashboard within one business day. If an account does not appear within two business days, call us at 866-837-3065. A missing required field or documentation issue may be holding it in review.

Who do I contact if I need help with a portal submission?

Call 866-837-3065 or email info@swrecovery.com. The Southwest Recovery client support team handles portal questions every business day. If you are working through the portal for the first time, start with the training videos above before you call.

Can I track the status of my submitted accounts in the portal?

Yes. Every submitted account appears in your portal dashboard with a current status label. Status updates as Southwest Recovery works the account. You can check in at any time without calling our office. The Client Portal Overview video at the top of this page explains how to read status labels and interpret dashboard data.

How do I submit an account to Southwest Recovery?

Log in to the client portal at swrsportal.com. Select the placement type that matches your account: commercial, consumer, property management, or medical. Fill in the required fields: debtor name, contact information, amount owed, delinquency date, and any supporting documentation. Submit. You will receive a confirmation and the account will appear in your dashboard.

What information do I need to send accounts to collections?

At minimum: the debtor’s full name, last known address, phone number, the amount owed, and the date of the original delinquency. Depending on your account type, you will also need invoices or contracts for commercial accounts, lease agreements and move-out ledgers for property management, or patient account records for medical accounts. The more complete your submission, the faster we can begin recovery work.

How long does it take to collect a debt once submitted?

It depends on the debtor. Most cooperative debtors respond within 30 to 90 days of first contact. Accounts requiring skip tracing take longer. You can check real-time account status in the portal at any time. Southwest Recovery works accounts until collection is achieved or the account is exhausted.

How does Southwest Recovery report collection results?

The client portal shows real-time account status on any individual account at any time. Monthly statements are available through the portal. For custom reporting across a large account portfolio, contact your Southwest Recovery account manager at 866-837-3065.

What happens if Southwest Recovery cannot collect? What is the typical fee range?

No fee is charged. Southwest Recovery operates on a contingency basis. Fees typically range from 18% to 45% depending on account age, debt type, and portfolio size. You only pay a percentage of what we recover. If we cannot collect, you owe nothing. No retainer fees, no upfront costs, no charges for uncollected accounts.

How do I update contact information for a debtor after submission?

Log in to the client portal and locate the account. If the portal allows direct edits, update it there. If not, call 866-837-3065 or email info@swrecovery.com with the account number and corrected contact information. Updated debtor contact details can change collection outcomes meaningfully. Submit corrections as soon as you have them.

Can Southwest Recovery collect from debtors in other states?

Yes. Southwest Recovery Services is licensed and operates in Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio, and Colorado, and works nationally. If your debtor has moved out of state, submit the account with the last known address and current contact information. Our skip tracing handles the rest.

What compliance rules should I know as a Southwest Recovery client?

As the creditor, you are responsible for submitting accurate, complete account information. Do not contact the debtor yourself once the account is placed with Southwest Recovery. Dual-collection activity can expose you to FDCPA liability. Southwest Recovery handles all compliance requirements for collection contacts: FDCPA-compliant communications, required notices, and all regulatory filings. If a debtor sends a compliance-related response, call us before acting.

What types of accounts get the best recovery rates?

Accounts submitted early, within 90 days of delinquency, recover at significantly higher rates than aged accounts. Accounts with complete debtor contact information outperform those with partial data. Commercial B2B accounts with a signed contract or invoice as documentation are typically stronger than undocumented accounts. Submit early. Submit complete. Include supporting documents.

How do I maximize my debt recovery rate with Southwest Recovery?

Three things make the biggest difference. First, submit accounts as soon as delinquency is confirmed. Recovery rates drop sharply after 90 days. Second, provide complete debtor information at submission. A current phone number and address are worth more than any tool we have if the debtor’s contact info is stale. Third, monitor account status in the portal and respond quickly when Southwest Recovery contacts you about a specific account. Some situations require a creditor response, and delays cost recovery.
